Arakalagudu Varadarajulu Kanthamma College for Women
Established in September 1966, A.V. Kanthamma College for Women was founded to provide higher education to socially and economically disadvantaged women of Hassan and the surrounding region. Affiliated to the University of Mysore, the college has, over five decades, grown into one of Hassan's most respected institutions for women's education.
Today the college serves approximately 1,100 students across the Science, Humanities and Commerce streams, with hostel accommodation for over 300 out-station students, a well-resourced library, and active co-curricular programmes in art, music, theatre and sports.
